Diwali’s just round the corner and the first thing that comes to mind when you associate Bollywood with the festival are the lavish Taash parties.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra along with her husband Raj are known for throwing lavish card parties for dear friends during Diwali. From Shah Rukh to Rani Mukerji…the who’s who of Bollywood is seen attending Shilpa’s much awaited bash.

However the actress won’t be hosting the taash party this Diwali since a close relative is unwell.

“Raj’s close relative is unwell and we hope he recovers soon. We thus won’t be hosting the card party this Diwali. We won’t be celebrating. I will however have a Lakshmi Puja at my place and I am expecting my in laws to be with us this year which makes it special. It’s going to be family time” said Shilpa.

Vidya Balan‘s new sizzling avatar in ‘The Dirty Picture’ turned out to be a huge sensation. While some has lapped up her hot image, others are just shocked as to how a charming beauty like her gave the nod for such a raw movie.

Amidst these gossips, our birdies heard that Siddharth Roy Kapoor - Vidya’s “good friend” - is not happy with his lady’s hot performance in the film. It is said that he is concerned with all the attraction Vidya is getting for the steamy scenes and he is not liking it at all. And so Siddharth alleged to have asked Vidya to request the filmmakers to tone down the hot scenes.

However, some sources supporting Siddharth remarked that nothing as such has happened, since he is very much part of the industry and is aware how everything works. They also added that he is not the one who will interfere in the film’s matters and moreover, he is looking forward to the film’s success.

Jaya Bachchan held a baby shower for her pregnant daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Tuesday 18^th October at their residence in Mumbai.

Stars such as Bipasha Basu, Saira Banu, Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Urmila Matondkar, Manyata Dutt, Asha Parekh and Karan Johar attended the baby shower, which in true Bollywood style featured singing and dancing. Fashion wise the stars opted for Indian attire with many stars opting for white and gold outfits.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is expecting her first child in November, opted for an orange Indian outfit and had makeup artist Mickey Contractor on hand getting the star ready on the day. Guests reported that Aishwarya was glowing with a mother-to-be glow surrounding her.

Choreographer Saroj Khan, who also attended the event, told the media about the baby shower saying, “I have never seen so many celebrity women together. All the women went up to Aishwarya and blessed her. Jayaji received each guest personally and was very warm. Even her daughter, Shweta, gave personal attention to everyone. There were a lot of songs and celebration.”

Husband Abhishek Bachchan, who wore a white and gold embroided kurta, thanked fans for their good wishes to his wife on the special day tweeting, “Good morning everyone. Thank you so much for all the wishes for Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai’. Read out some of your messages to her.”

Amitabh Bachchan could not attend the event as he is currently shooting for his latest Hollywood movie in Australia, The Great Gatsby.

Not the one to do a tacky job, Veena has been meeting sex workers in Mumbai.

“This film has changed my life and my attitude to women and sex workers in particular…I insisted on playing Madhuri. Koi connect hai (some connection is there)… I don’t know what it was. But I instantly empathized with Madhuri’s responsibilities towards her large family,” Veena is quoted as saying in an agency interview.

“Maybe because I come from a family of five daughters and one son. But I understand what it feels like to be a woman in a male-dominated society. I’ve always supported myself, been on my own since adulthood,” she noted.

Veena spent hours with Madhuri to know about her dual life.

“In the daytime she’s a normal middle-class girl. In the night she puts on her burqa and goes to work in the red-light area, just like any normal working girl,” Veena added.

“I loved the dignity that Madhuri brings to her life and her work. I hope I am able to convey the same dignity in my performance,” Veena said.

“There’s a contradiction in Salman’s character. He gets attracted to women from his industry only… his co-stars become his love interests. “A woman who has just started her career can’t be doing stuff like preparing meals, washing clothes, preparing kids and yet lead the hectic life of a movie star! Salman, 44, who is Salim’s eldest son, has been involved with actresses like Somy Ali, Sangeeta Bijlani and Aishwarya Rai.

The 44-year-old is said to have split from his latest girlfriend, actress Katrina Kaif.

Salim dodged the question, saying: “I can’t say if Katrina is in Salman’s life… If a marriage decision stretches for so long, it usually does not happen. It means that the person is not 100 percent sure to get into it…that’s why the delay.”

According to Salim, who is credited for scripting films like Seeta aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay and Trishul, Salman suffers heartbreaks because for most of his girls the prime motive is stardom.

“Whenever girls have come into Salman’s life, they are looking to be a movie star. So settling down is the last thing on their minds. So the relationships reach a saturation point and then fizzle out.”

Salim has two other sons – Arbaaz and Sohail, and a daughter, Alvira, from his first wife Salma. He later married Bollywood’s cabaret queen Helen and adopted a daughter named Arpita.

“There were rumours that he fell in love with actress Nayantara, who was part of the movie. My well wishers too informed me about their relationship.

Recently a website carried Prabhu Deva’s interview in which he was quoted as saying that he would soon marry Nayantara. She also stated that Prabhu Deva had stopped coming to the house and neglecting their children and not giving expenses to run the family. She urged the court to direct Prabhu Deva to live with her.

According to a source, Prabhu who has fallen in love with the actress has offered his wife a house in Anna Nagar and 3 crore to go ahead with his marriage plans with Nayantara.

“A husband is punished if he goes in for a second marriage when his first wife is alive. I feel the second wife should be arrested when she tries to snatch a man who is already married,” she reportedly told the channel.

“Ranbir is someone I’m very fond of, I’m really looking forward to working with him because I think we have not worked enough together,” the 24-year-old actress told reporters.

Reportedly, the actress announced her plans about starting her own production house last year. The actress, who has converted into Christianity and reads Bible, wants to make a film based on the same. It was also reported that she tentatively titled her dream project as ‘The Holy Bible’.

Actually, Sanjay Dutt wanted to be present at the grand ceremony where all the parents will be accompanying their kin on this day. But, alas, Sanjay Dutt cannot make it to the big day it seems.

Sanjay Dutt on his part cannot fathom the logic behind this ban. According to him when he can travel all over the globe for his shoots, why can’t he travel to the US to be alongside his daughter on this big day?

The scene being shot demanded Imran to have a gun in one hand and Katrina by his side. He was to move around and pull Katrina towards him with the other hand. An error in judgement led to Imran smashing the barrel of his gun into Kat’s nose. It happened so quickly and in seconds Kat’s nose was bleeding. Coincidentally, this was the same side of Kat’s nose that was injured during the shoot of ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’ when Ranbir accidentally landed a blow on her face.

Seeing the state of her nose everyone panicked, the shooting was cancelled and Katrina was escorted to her van. A doctor was called and she was administered first aid. The bleeding did stop but she was still in pain. Twice hit in the same spot, Katrina should really get her nose insured.
